Route 66 in 2013

Route 66 is the historic highway used by people moving west into California especially during the 1930s. It runs from Chicago to Los Angeles, and although much as been bypassed by new freeways there is still much of the original road in parallel. The route was supported by a fascinating infrastructure of diners, gas stations and accommodation which today thrives as historic sites and tourist attractions.
